Spain’s tourist arrivals decline 8.9%

According to the recent data, a total of 49.5 million foreign tourists have arrived in Spain from January to November.
The data, which was released by the Industry, Tourism and Commerce Ministry, showed a fall of 8.9 percent in tourist arrivals in that period of time.
Further, it showed that in the month of October, the decline in international visitors stood at 9.3%, while in the high seasons, July, to September, the total number of international tourists declined 10%.
In the month of November, the country received around 2.8 million of international visitors, 3.1% less than the same month in the previous year but a slight better than the fall for the month of October against that month last year, which had been 3.6%.
Till now in 2009, Britain remained the Spain’s major tourist supplier, in spite of the conception that the number of tourists coming from British Isles fell 15.6% to 12.73 million.
Next to Britain, Germany, the second largest tourist supplier to Spain, records a downfall of 11.3% to 8.5 million.
In contrast, tourists from France has been increased for the second successive month, eyeing a 4.3% increase in November, even though their numbers for the year have also declined, slightly by 2.9% to 7.5 million.
