Renault to manufacture Electric car in Spain

French carmaker Renault SA has expressed its plans to manufacture electric automobiles based on the Twizy Z.E. concept cars at its Valladolid plant in northern Spain, from 2011.
The company said in a statement that it has selected Spain as its proximity to key Western European sales markets and to simplify logistics for the eclectic car project.
The company said in a statement, “After France, with the announcement of the production of the future city car based on Zoe Z.E. Concept, it is now the turn of Renault's Spanish production base to prepare for the industrialization of a zero-emission model.”
While the Managing Director of Renault in Spain, Jean Pierre Laurent said, “With the production of the vehicle based on the Twizy Z.E. Concept, Valladolid will be the first factory in Spain to mass produce an electric vehicle.”
The French carmaker also said that it has decided to mass market a whole range of affordable zero emission products in 2011, and last month selected Valladolid to establish a thermal plant engine in 2012 and a fuel-combustion vehicle in 2013.
